The Department

Regional Development Australia (RDA) is a national network of 55 committees made up of local leaders who work with all levels of government, industry and community groups to support the development of their regions. RDA Mid North Coast is one of these committees.

Regional Development Australia is administered by the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development (the Department). RDA Mid North Coast works in close partnership with the Department, particularly with regard to our Mid North Coast Regional Plan and the National Stronger Regions Fund.

Regional Plan

Every 3-5 years, RDA Mid North Coast is required by the Department to submit a Regional Plan which outlines the development priorities for the Mid North Coast region. The Regional Plan is developed in collaboration with numerous key partners and stakeholders from across the region, including local government, and is supported by substantial research undertaken by RDA Mid North Coast. Much of this research is provided in the Regional Profile which is submitted as an appendix to the Regional Plan.

Building Better Regions Fund

The Building Better Regions Fund is administered by the Department and supports the infrastructure needs of regional Australia. RDA Mid North Coast plays a role in assisting councils and not for profit organisations with their applications for this fund. The decision of funding is made by the Department and is independent of RDA Committees.
